This fantastic idea came to life thanks to Max Slaney, a T Level Student from Exeter College, who had a placement with InExeter as part of his course. Max, an avid chess player and member of the College’s Chess Society, envisioned bringing chess to the heart of the city.

With the parklet project underway we saw the opportunity to integrate chess boards as part of the project. The chess boards were installed at our Musgrave Row Parklet near Exeter Central Library.
