Pitches and booking
What to expect and our policy

Type of Pitch and Booking.

We have 2 types of pitch for sale:

£30 for a 2x2m pitch which is placed at the bottom half of the road.

£40 for a 3x3m pitch which is placed at the top half of the road. (we try to reserve 3x3m pitches for pro traders as they tend to have much more stock).

Pitches go on sale 5 weeks ahead of the event. All bookings are made via Eventbrite and close 1 week prior to the event. Follow InExeter here to get notified when bookings go live.

The event is not for profit so we have kept the costs as low as possible.  All pitch fees are non-refundable and the event goes ahead whatever the weather (apart from exceptional circumstances!).

No coverings, tables or other infrastructure is provided. You must bring everything you need to trade on the day. Gazebos are welcome but they must be in good working order, folding, and no larger than the size of your pitch (2x2m or 3x3m). You must bring your own suitable weights. Gazebos deemed not to meet the requirements must be taken down.

When bookings open for a market, you can reserve a space via Eventbrite. By booking, you acknowledge and agree to our trader policy, which you can view here.

What to expect on Flea days and our policy.

Fore Street will be closed to traffic from 9am – 6pm between Bartholomew Street and Market Street.

The Fore Street Flea runs from 12pm – 4pm, with setup from 10am. Please do not arrive before 10am as entry will not be allowed.

If driving, you’ll be informed by email which end of the road to use (Market Street or Bartholomew Street). A steward in a hi-vis vest will direct you. Use hazard lights and keep your speed under 5mph. You’ll be guided to your pitch; arrive together with friends to ensure adjacent spots, as we cannot guarantee placement. Pitches will be filled from the middle outward. Unload and remove your vehicle before setting up. VEHICLES MUST BE OFF SITE BY 11.30AM. Late arrivals will be denied entry.

This outdoor event will proceed in all weather conditions. Bring warm clothing and coverings for your stall. Refunds are not issued for wet weather.

Refreshments and food are available from local cafes and food stalls.

The closest long-stay car parks are in Mary Arches Street and Smythen Street, and the nearest public toilets are in The Guildhall.

We encourage you to stay until 4pm, even if you sell out early. Packing up during the market is difficult and hazardous, and it helps other traders if the Flea looks active. Please take all belongings and litter with you, and be respectful to the community.

You are responsible for watching your stall; our stewards cannot do this, and we are not liable for unattended stock.

Trader, maker, crafter, food, and drink stalls are subject to the final discretion of InExeter Ltd. In rare cases, applications may be refused, and attendance denied without justification. Reputation of conduct will be considered. The decision of InExeter Ltd is final.
