What is June Boom?.

June Boom is a collaborative campaign that celebrates arts, culture and creativity in the city.

This month-long celebration is designed to showcase the incredible events, arts and cultural activites happening across Exeter in June. This initiative aims to unite the city in promoting Exeter as a vibrant, dynamic and inclusive destination for locals and visitors alike.

From community festivals and live music to stand-up comedy and art installations, this campaign highlights the richness and diversity of our city’s cultural offer.

How it started.

In June 2024, Exeter hosted a wide array of exciting events organised by community groups and creatives including the Respect Festival, Heritage & Harbour Festival, City of Literature Book Market, Exeter Comedy Festival, Africa Writes, and Dumpling Appreciation Day, to name a few. Many events are organised by dedicated volunteers or cultural producers with limited resources.

InExeter recognised their positive effect on the city and sought a campaign to support these events in collaboration with city partners.

June Boom launched in June 2025 alongside Exeter Culture, Exeter City Council and Visit Exeter and will be returning again in 2026 with the same working group that launched the campaign in 2025.

Why are we doing this?.

• Strengthening Exeter’s collective voice : A unified campaign amplifies the reach and impact of individual events, creating a cohesive narrative that attracts more attention and footfall to the city.

• Supporting local economy : By drawing more visitors and residents to the city centre, the campaign will benefit local businesses and enhance Exeter’s reputation as a vibrant hub for arts, culture, and entertainment.

• Showcasing diversity : With events catering to a wide range of interests and audiences, this campaign celebrates Exeter’s unique character and the creativity of its community.
